Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Video Frame Extractor, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Service Description

Video Frame Extractor provides a browser-based video frame extraction service. Depending on your browser and file compatibility, the service may include:

  • Local video loading and in-browser playback preview
  • Manual frame capture from the current playback position
  • Interval-based batch extraction across a video timeline
  • Frame export in supported browser image formats such as JPG, PNG, or WebP
  • ZIP packaging for multiple extracted frames
  • Estimated output counts and download size guidance
  • Tool settings for format and quality control where supported
  • Free access to the publicly available frame extraction workflow

Local Processing Technology

🔒 Local Processing Technology

The core extraction workflow runs in your browser using local device resources. Your source video and extracted frames are intended to stay on your device during normal use, but actual results still depend on your browser, operating system, and device environment.

Acceptable Use

When using the service, you agree to:

  • Use the service for lawful purposes only
  • Process only videos and media you own or are authorized to use
  • Respect intellectual property rights and copyright laws
  • Not attempt to interfere with, exploit, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service
  • Not use automation or abusive traffic patterns that materially harm site stability
  • Not use the service to process unlawful, infringing, malicious, or harmful content
  • Not upload or submit code, files, or payloads intended to damage systems or other users

Your Content and Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the videos you process and the frames you export:

  • You must have rights or permission to extract and use frames from the source video
  • You are responsible for compliance with copyright, privacy, publicity, and related laws
  • You retain your rights in content you own
  • Using the service does not transfer ownership of your media to us
  • We are not responsible for claims arising from your use of extracted frames

Service Availability

We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access:

  • Availability may change due to maintenance, updates, outages, or infrastructure issues
  • Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed at any time
  • Performance may vary based on browser support, codec support, device memory, CPU, and file size
  • We may block abusive use or restrict access when necessary to protect the service

Technical Requirements and Limitations

The service depends on browser capabilities and device resources. You understand that:

  • Modern browser required: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (current versions)
  • JavaScript must be enabled for all functionality
  • Video support depends on browser and codec compatibility
  • Processing speed depends on device memory, CPU, video duration, resolution, and extraction settings
  • Large jobs may increase memory usage and can slow or freeze the browser
  • Estimated output counts and file sizes are guidance only, not guarantees
  • Supported export formats may vary depending on browser capabilities and current tool settings

Quality and Performance Disclaimers

Important limitations apply to extraction output and browser performance:

  • Output quality depends on the source video, selected frame, browser decoder behavior, and chosen export format
  • Compression settings can reduce image quality in exchange for smaller files
  • Frame accuracy may vary slightly depending on seeking behavior and browser media APIs
  • Very large or long videos may hit practical browser or device limits
  • We do not guarantee suitability for any specific professional, evidentiary, archival, or compliance use case

Privacy and Data Protection

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle operational data and local processing behavior:

  • Your source video and extracted frames are intended to remain local during normal tool use
  • We may still collect limited site analytics, security signals, or diagnostics as described in the Privacy Policy
  • You should review the Privacy Policy for more complete information

Free Service Model

The publicly available version of the service is currently offered without a required account fee:

  • No signup is currently required for standard homepage frame extraction
  • We may change pricing, limits, or feature access in the future
  • Free availability today does not guarantee permanent free availability of every feature

Intellectual Property Rights

The website, branding, software, design, and related content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws:

  • You may not copy, resell, or create derivative services from our proprietary site materials except as allowed by law
  • Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses
  • Your own video content and extracted frames remain subject to your rights and responsibilities

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
  • We disclaim warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the extent permitted by law
  • We are not liable for losses arising from browser instability, failed exports, data loss on your device, or incompatibility issues
  • Your use of local processing tools is at your own risk
  • Maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant service, which may be zero
  • No liability for business interruption, lost profits, or consequential damages
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Video Frame Extractor harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your content, your violation of law, or your breach of these Terms.

Browser Compatibility and Technical Support

We may provide general usage guidance, but we do not guarantee customized technical support for every browser, codec, device, or workflow:

  • Supported behavior may differ across desktop and mobile browsers
  • Older or restricted browsers may fail to decode certain files or complete large extractions
  • Documentation and UI guidance are informational only and may change over time

Content Guidelines

Even though we do not normally receive your source media, you must not use the service for unlawful or harmful purposes:

  • Do not process illegal, abusive, exploitative, or infringing content
  • Respect copyright, trademark, and intellectual property rights
  • Do not violate privacy or publicity rights of others
  • Do not use the service in a way that harms the site, other users, or third parties

Service Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or restrict access when necessary:

  • We may act to enforce these Terms or protect security and service stability
  • Termination or suspension does not transfer rights in your local files to us
  • Your locally saved exports remain your responsibility

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the service operator is established, unless mandatory law requires otherwise:

  • The parties will first try to resolve disputes informally
  • If informal resolution fails, disputes may be resolved in courts or other forums permitted by applicable law
  • Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws

Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
